Cascade County Board of Health

The Board of Health is responsible for the management and oversight of the public health system as administered by the City-County Health Department, CCHD, and directly oversees the department's operations. Established by MCA 50-2-106.

Membership — seven: the Mayor of Great Falls or a representative; one CascadeCountyCommission commissioner appointed by the County Commissioners; one interested citizen appointed by the County Commission; one interested citizen appointed by the CityCommission; the Superintendent of School District No. 1 or a representative; a licensed doctor of medicine and a licensed doctor of dentistry, both residing in Cascade County.

Meets 11:30 am to about 1:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Meetings may be attended in person or on Zoom, with login details on the County events calendar. Agendas, minutes and recordings are in the County Agenda Center.

The board posts a standing notice regarding HB 702, which prohibits discrimination based on vaccination status or possession of an immunity passport, stating that it does not refuse or deny services, goods, facilities, health care access or employment opportunities on that basis.

This is the same body the City lists as CityCountyHealthBoard; the City and the County each carry a page for it and each appoints to it.
