= City assessments =

Beyond the general property tax levy, Great Falls property owners pay assessments to a set of districts, each levied by its own resolution of the [[CityCommission]] after a public hearing, usually at the second meeting in August.

Assessed separately in September: the [[BusinessImprovementDistrict]] (Resolution 10583) and the [[TourismBusinessImprovementDistrict]] (10584).

'''Special Improvement Districts''', SIDs, are a different instrument: a district formed to fund a specific improvement, with a payoff information request process run by the [[FinanceDepartment]]. The City took a special improvement district policy update as a separate work item.
