= Conservation District =

The Conservation District Board of Supervisors for [[CascadeCounty]], established under MCA Title 76 Chapter 15. Conservation districts work locally to carry out the state's policy of conserving soil, water and other natural resources.

The '''High Plains Conservation District''' — formerly the Cascade Conservation District — covers all of the county except the original 1947 city limits of Great Falls, Belt and Cascade. Its supervisors attend SB 310 permit inspections, meetings and workshops.

'''Membership''' — seven members: five elected at large at the general election and two appointed residents of municipalities within the district, under MCA 76-15-301 and 76-15-305. Four-year terms for elected supervisors, three-year for appointed. Appointed supervisors must be residents of municipalities within the district under MCA 76-15-311(a).

The [[CityCommission]] makes one of the appointments. A reappointment was made at [[CityCommission2025-10-21]], 5-0, recorded in the minutes under the district's new name with the former name noted.
