OpioidSettlementFunds

Opioid settlement funds

Money from national opioid litigation settlements flows to Montana local governments and has to be governed and spent under agreed rules.

Resolution 10577, appointing and establishing a governance structure and fiscal agent for opioid litigation settlement funds, was adopted 5-0 by the CityCommission at CityCommission2025-04-15. The Commission had taken the subject at the work session earlier that day under "governing board for opioid settlement".

At CityCommission2025-10-07 the Commission returned to it under the heading "Cascade County Metro Region Governance Committee for Opioid Abatement", with two motions carried 5-0, referencing Resolutions 10577 and 10608.

The resulting joint body — see OpioidAbatementCommittee — posts its own agenda series in both the City's and CascadeCounty's Agenda Centers.
