Advises the CityCommission and the CityManager on all matters relating to the successful operation of the MansfieldCenter — use of the theatre, the convention centre and the meeting rooms, and common areas and facility aesthetics.
Created by Ordinance 2729 in 1997; revised by Ordinance 2813 in December 2001 and by Ordinance 2928 on February 21, 2006. Members are appointed under OCCGF 2.8.
Membership — five to seven members appointed by the City Commission, with an attempt to draw representation from performing arts, conventions and meetings, and civic leadership. Three-year terms. No residency requirement is stipulated, though the Commission prefers city residents.
Meets the third Friday of each month at noon in the Gibson Room of the CivicCenter.
The board posts a standing quorum notice: a quorum of members may be present at public events held in the Mansfield Center, and board business is not discussed at them. See QuorumNotices.
Reappointments were made at CityCommission2025-01-07 and CityCommission2026-01-06, and an appointment at CityCommission2026-04-07. The board's subject matter through 2026 has been dominated by the strategic business planning study for the City's assembly venues.
