Recent business

The board held a special work session on February 23, 2026 working through a project list — ADA restrom improvements, ADA sidewalks to play structures, water park bath house improvements, replacing the Elks Riverside Park trail, overlaying the Gibson Park trail, resurfacing sports courts, multi-sport dugouts and backstops, a picnic pavilion, RiversEdgeTrail improvements, irrigation upgrades, and tree trimming and replacement — together with how ParkDistrictNumberOne funds are used and a request for better communication in seeking the board's input.

Appointments and reappointments were made at CityCommission2025-01-07 and CityCommission2026-01-06.

Park district assessments and how they are spent are a recurring subject of public comment at Commission meetings, including on the use of maintenance district funds at Voyager Stadium.
