Tourism Business Improvement District

The Tourism Business Improvement District, TBID, is funded by an assessment on lodging property within its boundaries and spends it on destination marketing.

Created by Resolution 9806 on December 16, 2008, as authorised by MCA 7-12-1121. Resolution 9947 amended Resolution 9806 on November 15, 2011.

Purpose — governs the TBID with the powers and duties set out in MCA 7-12-1121 through 7-12-1133.

Membership — five to seven trustees appointed by the CityCommission. Trustees must be owners of property within the district boundaries, or their assignee. Four-year terms.

Meets the third Thursday of each month at 9:00 am at the University of Providence, McLaughlin? Center, Providence Forum, 1415 20th Street South.

With the City

The district's budget and work plan go to a public hearing before the CityCommission each July — 2025/2026 at CityCommission2025-07-15 and FY 2026/2027 at CityCommission2026-07-21. A FY 2025 budget amendment went to hearing at CityCommission2025-07-01. The assessment is levied by resolution in September; Resolution 10584 did so at CityCommission2025-09-16. Board appointments were made at CityCommission2026-04-07.
