Great Falls Transit District

Governs the Great Falls Transit District. The board determines the district's mill levy, prepares and presents its budget, and oversees operations, maintenance and administration.

Created under MCA 7-14-212 and by joint resolution — City of Great Falls Resolution 8677 and Cascade County Resolution 94-92.

Membership — five members: three elected, one appointed by the CityCommission and one by the CascadeCountyCommission. Four-year terms for appointed members; elected members under MCA 7-14-214. No residency requirement is stipulated for the appointed members.

Meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the main transit facility, 3905 North Star Boulevard.

The district participates in the MetropolitanPlanningOrganization.

Appointments

The City's appointment to the board went 4-1 at CityCommission2026-06-02 and 5-0 at CityCommission2026-07-21.
