The Great Falls Animal Shelter handles adoptions, lost and found, community cats, pet licensing, the multiple animal permit, and volunteer and donation programmes. The City posts the shelter's adoptable animals, its events and its pet owner resources.
Animal control is listed by the City as a programme of the PoliceDepartment, separately from the shelter.
The Great Falls Animal Shelter Remodel Project ran through the CityCommission in 2025: a change order credit of $3,369.60 to A & R Construction approved at CityCommission2025-05-06 and the final payment of $7,397.20 approved at CityCommission2025-05-20.
